On Thursday, prosecutor Ghada Aoun filed a new complaint against Riad Salameh, the governor of Lebanon’s Central Bank. This is following the State Security’s raid of his home in Rabieh one day earlier.
Judge Aoun is accusing Salameh of malpractice, concealing Central Bank’s losses, and breach of trust. She filed the complaint to Mount Lebanon judge Nicolas Mansour.
She also filed complaints against other parties: 4 former Central Bank deputy governors, Central Bank’s employees, international professional services company Deloitte, and former Finance Ministry director Alain Bifani.
Riad Salameh and his brother Raja Salameh are also under judicial investigation, where they are accused of money laundering, embezzlement, tax evasion, and illicit enrichment.
