Lebanese Army Thwarts Attempt To Smuggle Gasoline To Syria In A Garbage Truck

Lebanese Army

The Lebanese Army announced that, on June 29th, it had thwarted yet another attempt to smuggle gasoline from Lebanon to Syria.

On the Masnaa border point, the army stopped Syrian nationals (A.Sh) and (B.J) who were driving a garbage truck belonging to the Majdal Anjar municipality.

Rather than finding garbage inside the truck, the army found money and gasoline intended for smuggling by a Lebanese (J.K) and Syrian (H.A).

They filled around 1,080 liters of gasoline in 120 water gallons and hid them inside the Majdal Anjar Municipality garbage truck thinking it would pass.

All four involved members have been detained and an investigation is underway.
