Lebanese Joy Khalil returned from Canada after accomplishing the final accreditation with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) after participating as a Line Umpire in Granby, Toronto, and Vancouver.
Previously, the Lebanese Tennis Federation also shared that the tennis referee Joy Khalil had participated in the Wimbledon Qualification Competition Tournament, which is held annually in London, England.
The Line Umpire’s role is to aid the Chair Umpire in determining if a ball falls within or outside of court borders.
Lebanon was also present at the WTA with the Brazilian tennis player of Lebanese descent, Beatriz Haddad Maia, who finished as runner-up in the WTA National Bank Open 2022, held in Toronto, after achieving remarkable results.
