The draw for the 2024 AFC Women’s Asian Cup For U17 and U20 in Indonesia was just drawn in Malaysia, where Lebanon will be competing against the region’s best teams.
Major teams from the Asian region qualified for the U17 championship and Lebanon was placed in Group G alongside the Philippines and host Guam.
The qualifiers within the pool system are held in Guam, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Singapore, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The qualifying teams will compete in 8 groups in the 1st round from April 22 until April 30, 2023. The 8 leaders will then qualify to compete in the 2nd qualifying round in 2 groups from September 16 until September 24, 2023.
4 teams from the 2nd round will qualify for the finals, which are scheduled to take place in Indonesia from April 7 until April 20, 2024.
Additionally, the Lebanese team was placed in Group D alongside Jordan, Mongolia, and Bhutan for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup.
The 1st round of the qualifiers is scheduled to take place from March 4 until March 12, with 31 participating teams divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each and one group of 3.
Qualifying matches are played in a single-stage split league system in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Palestine, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The first-place finisher in each of the 8 groups will compete in the 2nd round, which will take place from June 3 until June 11, 2023, with the top 4 teams taking their places in the finals.
The finals of the tournament will be held from March 3 until March 16, 2024, in Uzbekistan.
