Yesterday, Pope Francis welcomed the new Ambassador of Lebanon to the Vatican Antonio Raymond Andary. During a formal ceremony, the Pope accepted Mr. Andary’s credentials. The Ambassador is from Knaywer, Tripoli. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in international relations from the American University in Washington D.C.
President Michel Aoun met the Pope
a few months ago. The Pope announced that he would be visiting Lebanon, but no specific date has been set for the visit. We hope that Mr. Andary’s agenda includes organizing a visit of the Pope to Lebanon.
