The second West Asian Youth Championship in Athletics for young men and women (under 20 years old) kicked off at Al Jamhour Club Stadium, Lebanon.
The championship, which is hosting participants from Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Palestine, saw Lebanese athletes winning numerous medals on the first day, including gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Mayssa Mouawad (100-meter race) and Yara Rizk (3000-meter race), both won gold medals, Nagham Hassan (3000-meter race) won a silver medal, and Pia Sarkis (Javelin Throwing) won a bronze medal.
The second edition of the West Asian Youth Championship in Athletics, which started on Sunday, July 3, will be held until Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
