‘Music For Beirut’ was born in collaboration with VICE Media’s music platform, Noisey, to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) in Beirut.
The CCCL is a non-profit that has been offering free cancer treatment to young patients in Lebanon. The center proves an exceptional cure rate of 80%, according to VICE.
Despite sustaining some damage during the blast on August 4, the center has dedicated itself to tending to as many child cancer patients as it can.
After other hospitals were destroyed, the CCCL was there to fill the gap and many cancer patients were transferred there.
However, because the center relies 100% on donations, it has had a tough year with the economic crisis, the pandemic, and now the disaster of the explosion. The CCCL is in need of help more than ever.
That’s why Music for Beirut and VICE’s Noisey are hosting a digital concert for free on YouTube featuring 28 up-and-coming artists from around the world.
It streams on October 11th at 8 pm ET and 5 pm PT, which would be 3:00 AM Lebanon time on October 12th.
