After ticking over 13,000 L.L. for the first time in Lebanon’s history yesterday, the dollar jumped over 15,000 L.L. on the black market.
On Tuesday afternoon, black market traders were selling the dollar for 15,000 L.L. and buying it for 14,500 L.L.
The exchange rate has been rising at an unprecedented speed on a daily basis causing the already dire situation in the country to collapse at a quicker rate.
This week, several supermarkets announced that they will be shutting down because of the increasing prices.
