In solidarity with Lebanon, VOX Cinemas in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah are currently screening a Lebanese film to raise funds for blast-struck Beirut.
Deeply saddened by the blast, Cameron Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas and Majid Al Futtaim Leisure & Entertainment, said in a press release:
“Lebanon needs all our help and we encourage our guests to support this worthwhile cause, which is providing vital services and urgent relief to the thousands of people impacted.”
The movie being screened is Yom eh Yom La2, a Lebanese romantic comedy starring Ziad Bourji, Hicham Haddad, Pamela El Kik, and Mia Saiid.
All ticket sale proceeds will go to the Emirates Red Crescent to provide urgent relief and help Lebanon rebuild the capital city after the blast destroyed many neighborhoods near Beirut’s port.
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has been one of the first to provide urgent brotherly assistance to Lebanon. ERC has been raising funds for Lebanon, calling the UAE residents to donate.
It is also helping compile the names of children who were orphaned after the blast as the UAE has pledged to take care of them.
There have been several initiatives in the UAE to support blast-struck Beirut and its affected people, including brands supporting with a share of their sales.
Among the most recent initiatives, Dubai restaurants will be cooking around the clock for Beirut, on August 31st, from 8 AM till 3 AM. All proceeds of their Save Beirut‘s campaign will go to trusted NGOs in Lebanon.
